"A ship that excels at controlling and commandeering the flow of the battle. Favored by the capitaines of the Compagnie Royale and pirates who seek to control the seas." In-game Description

The Corvette is one of the large ships in Skull and Bones. It is the second large ship added to Skull and Bones after the Frigate, added into the game in Year 2 Season 4 - Eye of the Beast.

The Corvette sails not to steal the spotlight, but to command it. Flying its colors at the heart of the battle, this formidable warship turns every broadside into a rallying cry and every repair into renewed resolve. Enemies marked by its fire fall faster, while allies fighting beneath its banner endure longer — a true flagship for captains who win wars through coordination, pressure, and presence.[1]

General[]

The Corvette is one of the large ships that players can't currently acquire. It is primarily used by the Compagnie Royale as their heavy hitters. The ship of John Scurlock's nemesis, Francis Caradec, is a corvette named Le Spectre.

History[]

During the Age of Sail, corvettes were one of many types of warships smaller than a frigate and with a single deck of guns. They were very closely related to sloops-of-war. The role of the corvette consisted mostly of coastal patrol, fighting minor wars, supporting large fleets, or participating in show-the-flag missions.

The first reference to a corvette was with the French Navy in the 1670s, which may be where the term originated. The French Navy's corvettes grew over the decades and by the 1780s they were ships of 20 guns or so, approximately equivalent to the British Navy's post ships.
